Biographic

A two-time UMass Boston alumna who earned  my B.A in History and a M.A. in Applied Linguistics, as well as a Ed. M. from Harvard Graduate School of Education.  I've been influenced by constructivists like Vygotsky and critical theorists including Habermas. Some of my research interests include classroom ethnography, cross-cultural education, and composition theory. In addition to this course I teach a First Seminar: Mass Media and Society which explores the problems and promises associated with the social construction of knowledge in the context of the War on Terror. I frequently present at conferences, including UMB's Teaching for Transformation.
