Professor Aidan Breen, Ph.D.

Aidan Breen is Irish. He completed his first degree through correspondence with the British Open University, the forerunner of ‘distance learning’, where he obtained a B.A. (1st Hons.) in history, modern philosophy and English literature. He completed his doctorate in medieval studies in Trinity College, Dublin, in 1988. Breen has published three books, 27 articles and hundreds of entries for the Dictionary of National Biography (Oxford), the Dictionary of Irish Biography, and a number of encyclopedias. He tows no party-political line and does not practice political correctness.
